Release Clause Price Revealed For Newcastle ‘Target’
After being named (in a cast of thousands) as a transfer target this summer for Newcastle United, it has been revealed that Wilfried Bony has a release clause written into his contract.
Newcastle were linked with Bony last summer (and beyond) but seemingly stood idly by as Swansea signed up a player who went on to score 25 goals for them in his first season.
Bony cost £12m when he transferred last summer and after adjusting so quickly to the Premier League, it’s obvious that his value will have increased.
On the back of speculation surrounding his future, it is now reported that Wilfried Bony has a £19m release clause that can be triggered.
Maybe if they moved the decimal point, Mike Ashley might be interested, but even then at £1.9m he might be trying to get the price down…
Not standing still, Swansea are reported to have already agreed the £7m signature of forward Luc Castaignos from FC Twente, the twenty one year old Dutch Under 21 international has scored 28 goals over the last two seasons.
