Mathieu Debuchy Broken Leg Reports Prove False

France played Jamaica tonight in the final warm up match before their World Cup match begins and there’s been an injury scare for Mathieu Debuchy.

While France put in a majestic performance to win 8-0, the match was held up for treatment in the 35th minute when Debuchy needed treatment.

He made it through to half-time but rival Bacary Sagna replaced him at the break.

There then followed mixed media updates including Lee Ryder of the Chronicle reporting that the Newcastle full-back had broken his leg.

However, after the game Didier Deschamps said that Mathieu Debuchy had a slight injury with a knock to the thigh but not that serious.

It would be a massive shame if Debuchy wasn’t available next Sunday when France kick off against Honduras, as the Newcastle man seems to have won the fight at right-back, with Deschamps surely starting with his first eleven tonight, or at least most of it.

Also playing from the start was Yohan Cabaye who scored, Remy was a late sub, while interestingly Moussa Sissoko played the full 90 minutes.

A tweet that helped sparked the scare
