Loic Remy Feels World Cup Benefit From Sitting Out Newcastle Matches When Not Injured
While I wish pretty much any player well at the World Cup who has a Newcastle connection, I make an exception with Loic Remy.
The fact Remy had no intention of staying at St.James’ Park was one thing, but when he happily admitted he’d missed Newcastle matches to save himself for the World Cup despite not being injured…
That experience of happily sitting out games when not out injured is certainly paying dividends for Loic Remy out in Brazil so far, as Didier Descamps has appreciated the striker’s great talent for…sitting on the bench while not injured.
While Sissoko, Cabaye and Debuchy have been involved in both matches against Honduras and Switzerland, Remy hasn’t had a single minute on the pitch, with the extra insult being that without Remy’s help they’ve already knocked in eight goals in one hundred and eighty minutes.

In contrast, after [intlink id=”44114″ type=”post”]Sissoko scored his first goal for France [/intlink]in the 5-2 demolition of Switzerland, teh Newcastle midfielder was in great spirits;
“At the moment we are playing very well, we’re strong defensively but also creating many chances in attack.
“Our strikers have great confidence at the moment and we are scoring lots of goals.
“A lot of different players are scoring too, it is great for the team. The coach can change someone but the new player comes in and plays well.
“We are a good team and we are playing very well, we can have a good tournament.”
