Jack Colback ‘Hope Sunderland Fans Understand Chance I Had To Move To Such A Massive Club’

Jack Colback has been attempting to tread a very fine line, trying to say all the right things for the Newcastle fans, while placating Sunderland fans.

He has failed miserably, at least where Sunderland fans are concerned…

Colback’s obviously very conscious of the position he is in, even though he grew up as a Newcastle fans so needs to make no apology about wanting to play for the team he grew up supporting.

However, in an interview with the NUFC official TV channel, the Killingworth born midfielder digs himself an ever deeper hole as he tries to say the right things.

Colback praises Sunderland but when he comes out with something like…“I hope they (Sunderland fans) can understand the chance I’ve had to move to such a massive club.”

I think that all of us who live in the real world can safely say that the answer to that from Mackems will be a big fat NO. They most definitely will not understand that Colback had to move to such a MASSIVE club.

This is what he had to say to the club’s TV channel;

“Absolutely delighted to come to a team I supported as a boy, my hometown club.

“I’m fully aware it’s going to be a controversial one but these sort of opportunities don’t come around too often. It was an opportunity to come to a huge club.

“A club that has a lot of potential, an amazing fanbase, and a brilliant stadium. It was one that I couldn’t let slip.

“If you asked a lot of fans around the World, what the one thing is they’d like to do before they die, it would be to play for the team that they support.

“I only have good things to say about Sunderland. They gave me my opportunity, they gave me my chance, and they’ve helped me along the way.

“All I can say is that I hope they can understand the chance I’ve had to move to such a massive club.”
