Frightening Situation Developing At Newcastle United

I just thought that I’d write down my take on the current situation at our beloved Toon.

Nothing here is new but it’s kind of worrying when you put it all down together on paper.

GOING OR GONE

Remy

Shola

De Jong

Gosling

Abeid

Tavernier

Newton

TRYING TO GET RID OF/WILLING TO LET GO (ALLEGEDLY)

Obertan

Sammy Ameobi

Ben Arfa

Mbiwa

Jonas

Amalfitano

FUTURES UNCERTAIN/DUE TO GO ON LOAN

Bigirimana

Ferguson

Vuckic

VULNERABLE TO BIG BIDS

Krul

Sissoko

Debuchy

THOSE LEFT

Keepers – Elliott, Alnwick

Full-Backs – Santon, Taylor(R), Haidara, Dummett

Centre-backs – Colo, Williamson, Taylor(S), Good, Streete

Midfielders – Anita, Tiote, Gouffran, Colback

Strikers – Cisse, Armstrong, Campbell, Perez.

You can switch the odd player to a different category if you like, but whichever way you look at it, if we don’t get a number of decent players in quickly, we are in serious trouble.

It’s all well and good having a ‘clear out’ but we need some bodies in quickly. Some of those in the last category (Those left) are injured, untried or, at best, squad players rather than first choice.

If we continue to get rid of some of our more experienced players perhaps we could think of buying a replacement first – a novel idea I know, but just a thought.

Even if we manage to hold on to the likes of Krul, Sissoko and Debuchy we are still weak in several areas and we need rather more than the ‘one or two’ that Charnley says we are looking to bring in each year.

Why do I feel that there is no proper plan in place to sort this out? Hopefully I’ll be proved wrong…
