England Youngster Looks Forward To Next Season With Newcastle
One rare positive that came in the second half of last season for Newcastle United fans, was the introduction of Adam Armstrong to the first team picture.
The 17 year old Geordie looked lively in his brief experiences and many supporters felt that Armstrong should have been given more pitch time, especially with both the poor form of the team and the fact that the season faded into obscurity after Mike Ashley failed to invest on the back of the promising opening half of the season.
Speaking to the Hartlepool Mail, this is what Adam Armstrong has had to say now about his debut and looking forward to next season;
“That first team experience last season has made me so much more hungry.
“It was great to get on and make my debut against Fulham in March, then the other games as well.
It’s been a great year and I just want to keep on pushing for a first team place next season.”
Building on his Newcastle debut, Armstrong of course was a key player as England Under 17s won the European Championships, though the Newcastle striker missed the final through injury.
The one vital ingredient he showed at the tail end of last season was enthusiasm, let’s hope he gets his chance to show a bit more of it next season.
