Dutch Media Report Luuk De Jong To Return Home
The chances appear to be receding of Luuk De Jong being seen at St.James’ Park again.
While rumours persist of another loan spell at Newcastle United despite the disastrous four months he spent on Tyneside last season, it now appears that the striker will shortly be back in Holland.
Borussia Monchengladbach paid around £12m less than two years ago when they signed De Jong from FC Twente.
Now Dutch football magazine Voetbal International are reporting that they understand Luuk De Jong has agreed terms with PSV Eindhoven, with the Dutch club willing to pay £4m to try and re-energise the forward’s career.
De Jong’s last goal came over 14 months ago in April 2013 and he never came remotely close to changing that statistic at Newcastle.
