Davide Santon ‘I Don’t Know If Newcastle Will Let Me Go’ – Confirms Two Clubs Want Him
Davide Santon has confimed that two clubs want to take him back to Italy.
The clubs in question are AS Roma and AC Milan, though the Newcastle full-back says that he is unsure as to whether Newcastle will let him go.
As we all know, cash is king for Mike Ashley and if he thinks he can get a decent fee plus a big earner off the books, with a cheaper replacement to fill in…
Speaking to Sky Italia, Santon also revealed though how settled and happy he has felt on Tyneside;
“There has been interest from Roma and AC Milan but I have two years left on my contract at Newcastle and I don’t know if they will let me go.
“I must say that I feel good at Newcastle as they have made me feel at home and I like the English League.
“Roma and Milan are two major teams, the Giallorossi (Roma) have been shown to have a strong team who’ll be able to fight for the Scudetto (runners-up last season) next season.
“AC Milan had some problems this year (finished a lowly 8th in Serie A) and have changed coaches; Allegri originally, then Seedorf and now Filippo Inzaghi, so things haven’t been very stable.”
AS Roma can offer instant Champions League football, plus they’ll have that extra cash they’ll want to invest for that challenge, whilst AC Milan of course will be desperate to rebuild for a better challenge next season.
