Alan Pardew ‘It Will Be Nice to Get A Result Against Manchester City’
Alan Pardew has sent out a rallying cry to Newcastle fans with the message that ‘It will be nice to get a result against Manchester City’.
If only his and Mike Ashley’s actions matched Pardew’s words.
The Newcastle manager has also said that he is looking for the team to be stronger in the second half of the season than happened in the last campaign.
If Pardew was saying that thanks to signing X, Y and Z he thinks we will be in a better place to compete all season and give Man City a game, his words would have a little bit of meaning.

Instead it is the usual rubbish platitudes that get him and Ashley through another day, this is what Pardew had to say to the Shields Gazette;
“We have not really stretched Manchester City in recent years, certainly not since I have been here, so it will be nice to get a result against them, and get our season up and running.
“The big sides, coming off the World Cup, might struggle to get going, there is a little bit of history of that happening before.
“That mght be an advantage to us but we are certainly looking to be stronger than we were last year, particularly the second half of the season – that is our focus.
“I am really optimistic about the fixtures, it is as good as it could be.”
“December looks tricky and I think we need to get a good points tally going into that month because it is going to be tough for us.
“We have got Sunderland at home for the first derby and that is good for us.”
Well Alan, the whole season looks tricky to me at the moment and as for there being anything good about the home derby fixture after the last two disasters he has presided over…
Well tonight I’m dreaming of winning the lottery, which looks about as likely as Pardew’s expectations for next season.
