Two Premier League Clubs Battling To Sign Obertan
Surely one of the most bizarre and least credible transfer stories ever, sees Aston Villa and West Ham said to be battling to try and sign Obertan.
The story claims that sauces/sources at both clubs have each said that Squidward is a ‘priority’ target this summer.
If anybody in the Premier League would be willing to take Obertan off our hands, even for nothing, would be jaw dropping. The 25 year old still has two left on his contract and surely the only way we will get rid of him is to pay up his contract.
The last Premier League match he started was March 2013 when Newcastle were hammered 4-0 by Manchester City and the last PL game Obertan started and United won was Boxing Day 2011(!), a 2-0 win at Bolton.
The story is being ran by Football Direct News, which was recently renamed from Sports Direct News amid claims that Mike Ashley no longer had an involvement.
However, maybe Ashley has used his old contacts to desperately try and hype up some interest in one of his players who the Newcastle owner allegedly blames Alan Pardew for signing, as it is claimed his was a signing the manager really pushed for, rather than Chief Scout Graham Carr.
