Newcastle Midfielder Agrees Terms WIth Rotherham

7 years ago

Newcastle midfielder Conor Newton has agreed terms with Rotherham and will join them on a two year deal.

This Sunday he will be hoping his current teammates James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic do him a massive favour and help Rotherham into the Championship.

Leyton Orient stand in their way in the League One play-off final.

The 22 year old Geordie had agreed a further one year contract last summer but was then loaned to St.Mirren instantly for another season, without then having a chance to see if he could progress within the Newcastle United set-up.

It was Conor Newton himself who announced via his Twitter account that Newcastle weren’t looking to keep him at the club;

“Sad to hear I won’t be at Newcastle United next season but I’m looking forward to a new page of my career & life…but I would like to thank the club and wish them & my friends I leave behind there all the best in their future endeavours.”

Good luck to the Geordie midfielder and it will be interesting to see if Rotherham also pursue Tavernier who has been a big hit on loan.

No doubt Sunday’s result will play a big part in their plans for next season.
