Newcastle Lose More Matches In Last 2 Years Than 89 Of Other 91 Clubs
Mike Ashley and his subordinates like to put a positive spin on pretty much everything, even where the facts are screaming at you that the opposite is the case.
Let’s see Alan Pardew and the rest of them explain away this one.
The Newcastle manager was recently keen to talk about, and apologise for, the recent half dozen results where Newcastle lost six in a row.
Pardew conveniently ignoring the bigger picture that now shows Newcastle have lost 15 of their last 21 competitive matches, including 14 in 20 in the Premier League.
Thanks to the excellent @MikeAshleyLies we have the table below showing who has lost the most matches over the last two seasons and Alan Pardew & Mike Ashley have managed to get Newcastle United into a remarkable 3rd place out of all 92 clubs in the four top divisions, as a proportion of matches played.
The table shows Newcastle have lost exactly half their league matches in the last 24 months, 38 out of 76 – it takes some doing.
Only a big commitment to lack of ambition, negative tactics and failing to invest in the squad have managed to bring us to this point.
Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League and Stevenage finished rock bottom of League One. Ashley and Pardew are not going to take this lying down and next season no doubt we’ll have every chance of overtaking those two and getting to the top of this prestigious table.
