Newcastle Looking At Aleix Vidal Transfer Move

A bit of a trend appears to be developing with first [intlink id=”43143″ type=”post”]Ayoze Perez from Spanish second division side Tenerife[/intlink] said to have agreed a move to Newcastle, then today United are also linked with Aleix Vidal.

Vidal is a Spanish midfielder who turns 25 in August and has only played in the top tier of Spanish football one season, the one just ended, the rest of his career has been spent either in reserve team football or the Spanish second division.

This past season was for Almeria, who escaped relegation by only one point and one position, though he did score six La Liga goals from his midfield position.

However, just like Ayoze Perez, Vidal hasn’t been recognised at any level by Spain and in my opinion, neither possess the profile that would convince you they could come straight into the Premier League and do a job.

Whilst we are linked (or have signed in Perez’ case?) with these type of very risky signings, the club are in the process of trying to shift the likes of Mapou and Ben Arfa.

Both French internationals and Ligue 1 title winners, in Mapou’s case as Captain of Montpellier.

The two are obviously talented players and yet have been ruined/wasted at Newcastle in different ways.

If this calibre of player cannot be coached and integrated as part of a successful Newcastle United team, what chance a couple of second division Spanish players?
