Michael Owen Wishes He Hadn’t Come To Newcastle
Michael Owen has once again shown his contempt for Newcastle United and the fans.
Talking about his one season at Real Madrid, the mercenary said that his only regret was joining Newcastle and not making it back to Liverpool.
Liverpool weren’t daft enough to take him back as they knew what sort of character he was and ask the vast majority of Liverpool fans and they will not count him as any kind of hero for them despite his goal record when he was there.
Of course he only came to Newcastle for one reason and that was money, with Freddy Shepherd daft enough to write out the cheque on the club’s behalf.
“The season at Real Madrid is one that I will never forget and a great experience both on and off the field.
“To wear the famous white kit, strut my stuff in an iconic stadium and share the pitch with the likes of Luis Figo, David Beckham, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Raul and Zidane was the stuff of dreams.
The only drawback from my decision to head to Madrid was that after a year in Spain, I didn’t manage to rejoin my my boyhood team, Liverpool
“Bit having played at the Bernabeu alongside some of the greats of the game, I suppose I can’t have too many complaints.”
