Loic Remy has stated that Newcastle United want to buy him but that he doesn’t know if he is going to stay at St.James’ Park.

The on loan striker from Queens Park Rangers adding that in terms of attracting attention from other clubs, “The World Cup is a showcase for me.”

In the interview with L’Equipe which our top translator Pierre has converted into English/Geordie so the rest  of us understand, Remy also talks about how he was allowed to miss a match or matches towards the end of last season, though it was definitely [intlink id=”43348″ type=”post”]the Liverpool one for starters as we reported this morning.[/intlink]

Mercato-Rémy :  “I don’t know if I am going to stay at Newcastle”

‘While his future is still uncertain, Loïc Rémy, the Newcastle striker , who was loaned last season by Queens Park Rangers, is counting on the World Cup to convince a top club to take him on next season .

In an interview with sports daily L’Equipe, Loïc Rémy describes his feeling about his situation:

“Sign for a big English club? The World Cup is a showcase for me.

“Newcastle, to whom I was lent to by QPR, wants to buy me. I do not know if I’ll stay there.

“I’m at a turning point in a pivotal year. It can be all guns blazing or stagnation. Since the beginning of the year, apart from injury, it has been good. And when I am in a good place, I think I can hurt teams,” warns the French international .

Especially since he has only played very little late in the season for Newcastle, “The coach Alan Pardew understood my point of view. We had nothing to play for. I did not want to risk getting hurt again,” he added

It is true that Loïc Rémy still remembers how he missed Euro 2012 due to a hamstring injury at the very end of the championship, “Heaven collapsed. It was devastating. I took me six months to resurface,” he admits.’
