Loic Remy Agrees Deal With Arsenal – Reported By Sky
A transfer trail that’s featured any number of dodgy elements, looks to be finally coming to an end, with Sky Sports Radio reporting that Loic Reny has agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
For Newcastle fans, the story started with Remy arriving in England to sign for United, only to do the dirty and sign for Queens Park Rangers while he was still awaited on Tyneside.
With QPR already all but relegated, Remy had the cheek to claim that he’d gone to Loftus Road instead of St.James’ Park, because he was interested in the ‘project’ there. Rather than the reported £100,000 a week wages and agreed ‘cheap’ buyout clause in his contract.
Incredibly, it was Newcastle who rescued the striker when QPR were relegated and he was desperate for Premier League football, United taking him on when nobody was interested – Remy having a rape charge hanging over him and recovering from a bad injury that saw him miss the opening games.
Loic Remy was good for Newcastle purely in terms of goals but very half-hearted when asked if he would stay on long-term.
The final insult came when in recent days the forward said that he’d avoided playing in some Newcastle matches despite being fully fit – just to make sure he didn’t get injured for the World Cup, claiming that Alan Pardew had agreed to this, something the Newcastle manager denied.
Whether it is Arsenal or whoever, Remy will be claiming even higher wages thanks to the deal he demanded with QPR when they were desperate for a lifeline, now leaving for a reported £8m buyout clause which will enable him to benefit even further as an individual.
To say, I hope he fails, would be understatement of the year.
