Krul ‘Cardiff Are A Decent Side But We Pulled Through’

I’m not going to turn on players I like and respect but I hate it when somebody like Tim Krul comes out with comments that I could have just imagined coming out of Alan Pardew’s mouth.

I can understand that a siege mentality must have developed at St.James’ Park with the embarrassing displays and results since Boxing Day, but when our decent players try and suggest Cardiff are a ‘decent side’ it goes against all available evidence.

We can see the Premier League table and what we saw with out own eyes yesterday simply confirmed it – they are abysmal…a bit like Newcastle have been in recent months.

The Newcastle keeper also claimed that he would ‘snapped people’s hands off for a top ten finish’ – surely that should be the bare minimum everybody associated with Newcastle should expect, finishing above the likes of Fulham, Cardiff and Hull isn’t some great success story.

Tim Krul speaking to the club’s official TV channel;

It was a massive result.

“They’re a decent side but we pulled through.

“The first goal was going to win the game. I always feel that with us, we need to go one nil up.

“We showed character, it was not an easy place to play today, but we win today and more or less secured a top ten finish.

“I think I would have snapped people’s hands off for a top ten finish.”
