Injury Rules Newcastle Defender Out Of World Cup
An end of season that promised so much for Newcastle defender Curtis Good, has ended in desperate disappointment.
Good was denied an appearance in the Scottish Cup Final, when he didn’t return to fitness in time to line up for his on loan club Dundee United against St.Johnstone.
That blow to the young Aussie defender looked to be put to one side though, with Good called up to the training camp and friendly fixtures for Australia’s preliminary squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
With a promising recent debut against Ecuador, Curtis Good was thought to have every chance of making the final squad that would travel to Brazil.
However, the Australian media have now revealed that Good won’t make the final selection after his injury problems returned to haunt him.
The defender needs surgery for the ongoing Hip Flexor problem that has plagued him this season.
