The life of former Newcastle striker Michael Chopra has taken yet another bizarre turn.

Chopra has seen his football career take second place to the headlines he has made for his problems with gambling, with the latest being the Geordie forward called to give evidence in a big drugs trial last year.

The 30 year old has been released by Blackpool and is currently without a club.

Recent days though have seen Michael Chopra publicly threaten former Swansea teammate Ashley Williams, warning the Welsh defender that if he doesn’t get in touch with Chopra then, “…it’s all coming out iv got the texts and pics.”

In total Chopra posted three messages on Twitter for all the world to see.

Firstly asking Williams to send his number by dm, which stands for direct message in Twitter speak, a process that allows you to send a private message to another Twitter user.

dm me ur number need to speak to u u no wat it’s about”

However, when he received no reply, Chopra ramped the threats up by referring to the texts and pics he claims he has.

“listen if u don’t get in touch it’s all coming out iv got the texts and pics”

Finally, when Williams closed down his Twitter account, Chopra sent the following Twitter message to Williams’ teammate and former Newcastle player Wayne Routledge;

“tell ur pal to get in touch with me Ashley the f***ing mug”
