The FA Correct Referee’s Blunder At Anfield

10 years ago

For once common sense has broken out at the FA where Newcastle United are concerned.

Referee Phil Dowd handed out two red cards that were soft to say the least and as some small recompense, the one handed to Paul Dummett Shola of course was the other one) has been rescinded with the FA releasing the following statement;

‘Newcastle United’s Paul Dummett has had his claim of wrongful dismissal upheld following an Independent Regulatory Commission Hearing today (Tuesday).

Dummett was dismissed for serious foul play during the game against Liverpool on May 11 2014.

The standard punishment has, therefore, been removed with immediate effect.’

Dummett’s challenge was awkward as he swung around after losing his bearings. However, it was the reaction of serial cheat Luis Suarez that helped make up the referee’s mind, despite the most minimal of contacts.

Sadly that didn’t stop Suarez acting as though he’d been cut in two, before of course jumping to his feet and strolling away once the red card had been awarded.
