Coloccini Admits Newcastle Fans ‘Deserve Better’
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s visit to Anfield, United captain Coloccini has acknowledged that Newcastle fans ‘deserve better’ but that the players/club achieved the overall objective of top ten.
Like his manager and others at the club though, Coloccini appears to also be under the misapprehension that supporter unrest is due to performances/results over the last month or so, rather than the deep resentment that has spread throughout much of the fanbase over months and years under Mike Ashley’s rule.
This is what the United Captain had to say to the Shields Gazette;
“We lost many games three nil and four nil and it is tough for the fans – they deserve better.
“You can lose games but the way that you lose is important.
“We’ve had a lot of criticism during the month but our target was top ten. I can understand the supporters as I’m sad when the team I support, San Lorenzo, are not doing well.
“They (Liverpool) are playing for something and we are as well, it is going to be a nice game to play in.”
