The Battle Of The 3 Goal Kings – Liverpool v Newcastle
No wonder TV have selected Liverpool v Newcastle as one of their live matches this Sunday, not only is it a match that could decide the Premier League title, it is also a battle of the ‘3 goal’ kings.
The scousers may feel a bit flat at the minute after imploding on the title run-in but they have seen a few goals this campaign.
Incredibly, in 22 of their 37 Premier League matches, Liverpool have scored 3 or more goals (Newcastle have managed to do that (score 3 goals or more) on 5 occasions).
To add to the mix on Sunday, Newcastle can boast a record that shows in their last six games against clubs who are currently above them in the Premier League, the Magpies have never conceded LESS than 3 goals.
Those recent six matches against teams currently ranked above Newcastle in the league are as follows;
0-3 Arsenal (A)
0-4 Manchester United (H)
0-4 Southampton (A)
0-3 Everton (H)
0-4 Spurs (H)
0-3 Chelsea (A)
So that is a record of no goals compared to twenty one conceded.
I fancy one of the teams to score three or more but I’ll let you work it out for yourself as to which it will be…
