Arsene Wenger Responds To Loic Remy Spotted At Arsenal
While Newcastle United fans wonder just who will be in the squad next season, Arsene Wenger has responded to media questions after Loic Remy spotted in the crowd at Sunday’s match.
The Gunners beat West Brom 1-0 having already been assured of yet another Champions League qualification with Everton’s defeat on Saturday.
However, one of the big talking points was Newcastle’s on-loan striker taking in the match at the Emirates;
“Honestly, I’ve just been informed that Loic Remy was here today, I didn’t know.
“So do not see that as a sign of us signing Loic Remy in that – I hope he’s paid for his ticket!
“No I didn’t invite him,, that is why I tell you I haven’t invited him.”
Whatever the truth of it, Wenger is hardly going to admit that they are involved in talks with the player.
However, amongst the repeated speculation there has been claims that Remy met Arsenal officials wit his agent for talks in recent weeks.
Sadly, apart from a few half-hearted feeble comments from Pardew alluding to Newcastle maybe retaining Remy on a permanent basis, the club don’t look as though they are making any serious attempt to buy him.
You may think that there is no chance of Remy choosing to stay but that doesn’t stop Mike Ashley and Newcastle United making every effort to keep the only reliable goalscorer Newcastle have got in the entire squad.
