Alan Pardew ‘We Was Terrific’

Alan Pardew was full of praise for his team but acknowledged that Newcastle need to bring in extra attacking options for next season.

The Newcastle manager thought that if Yoan Gouffran had put his chance away when United were already one up, it would have been a different result.

Alan Pardew;

“We was terrific.

“If we’d got that second goal from Gouff I think it would have been a tough ask for Liverpool today, cos we was in good shape.

“But we know offensively we need to be stronger and this summer we need to put that right.”

Newcastle did well for an hour but only really in the context of defending deep and hitting the home team with very rare counter attacks.

The home side appeared in shock after throwing away the title and Pardew gets at least one thing right with his statement about needing to bring in strikers.

You can’t approach every match with this kind of all out defensive set-up, or else we are looking at a disastrous season next time around.
