Alan Pardew Seriously Believes He Can Win The Lottery

Alan Pardew is increasingly resembling the deluded fools who count the seconds down until the lottery draw, seriously thinking they have a chance of winning.

Rather than a cursory glance the next morning at the numbers as the ticket is already in flight towards the bin.

‘See Ya’

The Newcastle manager has claimed that the club still haven’t given up hope of signing Loic Remy.

Pardew stating that, “we are working hard to keep him (Remy).

A talented player who is now very publicly courted by top four/six clubs such as Spurs and Arsenal, with no doubt a number of others waiting in the wings.

A player who has a goal every two matches record in the Premier League, scoring 20 in 40 games for a relegated QPR and a Newcastle team that have struggled for half the season.

On the player’s side, he hasn’t given one word of encouragement at any point this season that he might stay.  This comes on top of the fact that Remy dropped Newcastle in at the last minute in January 2013, when he did a u-turn and preferred to sign for QPR who were almost already relegated, simply for more money and a much talked about exit clause.

However, Alan Pardew still clings to the following positive spin;

“We are not completely resigned (to Remy not signing), we are working hard to keep him.

“He’s been an important part of our season, and if you take him away, we will need ti replace him for sure. We lost Yohan Cabaye in the Xmas period and that’s been difficult for us.

“We have got to give the fans and the club a lift by recruiting well in the summer.

“It is obvious we need to recruit offensive players who are good enough for Newcastle, that’s what we are going to focus on.”
