Thursday (tomorrow) will see the long awaited unveiling of a Joe Harvey tribute at St.James’ Park.

Thanks to the great efforts of fans via the Fairs Cup Club, at last there will be something at the stadium in honour of the last manager to bring silverware to Newcastle United.

Not forgetting of course that Joe Harvey also captained the team to FA Cup wins in both 1951 and 1952.

The Fairs Cup Club have organised a host of fundraising events and the end result will be a memorial plaque at St.James’ Park unveiled tomorrow, as reported by Football Trade Directory.

The plaque will be unveiled at the Gallowgate End by Ken Harvey, Joe’s son, with Fairs Cup winning captain Bob Moncur and former Newcastle striker Vic Keeble also giving a helping hand.

A host of other former greats are also due to be in attendance, including Frank Clark, Wyn Davies, Alan Foggon, Stan Anderson and Supermac.
