Three Newcastle Transfer Rumours For Price of None

It is a busy day in the story writing department of our football media, with three Newcastle transfer rumours for the price of…none.

First up, the old Fraser Forster back to Newcastle one.

With rumours of Tim Krul looking to leave in the summer and Forster looking to get a club in the more competitive English league, it will still take some believing that Mike Ashley would pay at least three times as much to bring Forster back as the £2m he got for him from Celtic.

Slightly bizarrely, there are claims in Italy that Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in Napoli’s 22 year old striker Lorenzo Insigne. A figure of £20m is speculated on the young striker but with only 7 goals in 70 (including sub appearances) Serie A matches, quite how this ‘transfer’ would work for Mike Ashley is anybody’s guess – though he is young I suppose….

Continuing on the unlikely theme, Sporting Lisbon are claimed to have offered Diego Capel to both Newcastle and Sunderland for a ‘bargain’ £4m. The midfielder has made one start for the Spanish national team but his Portuguese club team are allegedly looking to have a clearout due to financial problems.
