Support Petition Calling On Players To Give 1% Of Wages To Charity and Make A Difference

In 2013, financial experts Deloitte analysed the finances of Premier League clubs and concluded that the average top flight player now earns in excess of £30,000 each and every week.

This is £3,500 more than the average annual salary in the UK.

At the same time, charities across the country are struggling to raise the vital funds they need to continue to exist.

This is because, in recent years, most working people have seen their living costs rise faster than their wages and have tightened up their purse strings as a result.

Total Premier League footballers = 500+

1% of £30,000 is £300

£300 x 500 = £150,000

If this petition is successful, that’s almost £8 million a year in the coffers of charities up and down the country.

Please sign the petition, let’s make a difference.
