Pardew ‘Fans Said We Weren’t Bothered About Cups, Now They Are Saying It About The League’

Alan Pardew has responded to criticism by admitting that he knows many fans are saying that he and his team aren’t giving the Premier League matches the respect they deserve, just like the perception the supporters have of the club’s ‘desire’ in the Cup games.

The manager has also said that he and his team have to ‘…accept criticism and take it, then come back and produce your best’, big problem with that last statement is if later this afternoon we just get more of the same from Pardew and his players – what does he say then?

“I think that we are at one of our lowest ebbs (when it comes to relationship with fans).

“The Cup defeat to Cardiff had a similar feeling to this week. Back then people were saying we weren’t bothered about the Cup and now they are saying we are not bothered about the league!

“I want this spell to end because up until this last period the season has been pretty strong.

“I think that the point of being the manager of this club, and most importantly as a player here, is that you need to have that resilience about you.

“You need to be able to accept criticism and take it, then come back and produce your best.”
