Pardew ‘It Would Have Been A Decent Day If We’d Got A Draw’
Alan Pardew won’t have won many friends with his claim post-match Newcastle v Swansea that, “it would have been a decent day if we’d got a draw”, the fans having wasted another ninety minutes of their lives watching a clueless performance.
The Newcastle boss believed that a draw would have been an achievement due to, “what happened to us during the game.”
“It would have been a decent day if we’d got a draw today, in terms of where we were and what happened to us during the game.
“I’m gutted for the fans.
“It was a day where the club was desperate for a result, that was all. Just a result and we could have taken ourselves forward.”
As it happened I think that what happened during the match, certainly in terms of De Jung and Cisse going off, actually helped Newcastle. Swnasea had started much the better team and neither De Jong or Cisse were contributing anything, while Anita once again looked really uncomfortable at full-back.
Remy may not have looked up for it but Debuchy was his usual self and i made him man of the match for Newcastle, while at least in midfield Anita contributed something.
Where exactly a win would have ‘taken ourselves forwards’ to is anybody’s guess.
