I think it is safe to say that the latest in a long line of incidents makes us all extra grateful that Nile Ranger’s involvement at Newcastle United was brought to a belated end.

Since leaving St.James’ Park, Ranger has added a long line of additional incidents where the Police have been involved.

This latest one though could be the worst of the lot.

Video footage was obtained by the Sunday Mirror and then passed to the Police, in the footage it clearly shows Ranger slap a woman twice in the face before landing a punch, leading her to stagger back against a wall. The footage also showing Ranger smashing down a door to get access to his flat.

The assault happened at around 4am on Sunday 13th April and once alerted to the footage this weekend, three police cars attended Ranger’s Swindon flat where the incident had occurred, only to find no sign of Ranger.

Now the Police have arranged to interview Nile Ranger and have also appealed for the assaulted woman to come forward.

Wiltshire Police Spokesman;

“The company’s supplied the police with a copy of CCTV of the incident, which shows a man kicking and smashing the door and lift, and at one point punching a female who was with him.

“Police have been making inquiries to locate the suspect.

“As a result, a man, aged 23, of Gordon Gardens, Swindon, will be contacted via his solicitor for interview by appointment in connection with the criminal damage and assault.”
