Newcastle United Found Guilty Of Overcharging Away Fans
Southampton have overtaken Newcastle in the race for eighth and now the South Coast club have been successful in bringing a case that found Newcastle United were guilty of overcharging away fans.
The match on 14 December 2013 at St.James’ Park ended in a 1-1 draw but following Southampton becoming aware of discrepancies in how much their fans had been charged by Newcastle United, compared to NUFC fans in equivalent seats, they made a complaint to the Premier League.
The Premier League found Mike Ashley guilty of breaking their rules regarding fair prices for away fans compared to home fans and now Newcastle United have been ordered to repay the 1,180 Saints fans who traveled.
The Premier League found that Seniors had been overcharged £11, Adults £10 and Juniors £9.
