Newcastle Name Squad For Silverware Battle Tonight

An eighteen man squad has just been named by Peter Beardsley for the Northumberland FA Senior Cup Final at St.James’ Park tonight.

Newcastle reserves/Under 21s play Blyth Spartans and it is a 7pm kick-off.

After defeating Whitley Bay in the semi-finals, Newcastle could at last register some silverware this season.

For Gale Bigirimana it is almost a year since at the same ground he was part of the team that almost made it through to the Europa League semi-finals, Benfica just scraping through over the two legs.

A bit of mystery as to why he has fallen away so sharply but matches like tonight are character building as the Newcastle youngsters come up against time served top local non-league players.

Entry is via the East Stand for £6 (£3 concessions) and a reminder that you can’t use your season ticket/club membership to gain admittance.

The result will be decided on the night, with extra time and penalties if necessary.

Newcastle Squad: Aarons, Bigirimana, Barlaser, Cameron, Gibson, Gilliead, Gillesphey, Heardman, Kemen, Mitchell, Mbabu, Olley, Quinn, Richardson, Satka, Sterry, Williams, Woodman
