Newcastle Linked Again With Dele Alli
Back in October, Newcastle United were said to be watching Dele Alli of MK Dons and over the weekend media reports claim that Newcastle are still tracking the midfielder with a summer move in mind.
Alan Pardew has claimed Newcastle want to focus on signing British players rather than those from abroad but with seemingly rigid limits on exactly what money will be available this summer, it is hard to see Pardew/Ashley investing in the possibility of future returns on a player who only turned 18 earlier this month.
Making his debut at only 16, the 18 year old has now scored six goals in his breakthrough season for the Dons.
This is what MK Dons manager Karl Robinson had to say about Alli earlier this season;
“I’ve seen a few things in training which are things I’ve never seen in my life before. The kid is one of the best; he’s 17 and he’s winning penalties, scoring goals, driving inside, backheeling things, nutmegging people, winning his tackles, winning his headers, what’s he not got? He’s got an air of arrogance about him but confidence too, he’s one of the best English young players in the country, fact.”
The 6ft 2 midfielder has represented England Under 17s and is also being watched by Liverpool and Arsenal according to media reports.
