I’m Staring At My Season Ticket Renewal
You can often refer to supporting a football team as a type of curse.
A curse that keeps you awake at night, a curse that stops you from functioning on a Friday at work, or perhaps a curse that no matter what, continues to bring you heartache.
That my friends is a definition of Newcastle United.
Many of you will have renewed your curse for another year back in January.
For myself I stare at my season ticket renewal every day, bitter and twisted. In one respect I wish I had already done it, instead here I am looking at parting with my hard earned for something I ultimately despise!
Who can put their hand up and say they enjoy going to the match now? I can safely say I don’t. Gone are those few beers before, few after, talking about our flair and little bits of magic that won us games! Now I see a one dimensional bunch of players with no ambition, no spark, no hunger and worse still, no cutting edge.
This brings me to the head of this operation, or at least the guy supposed to be running it! No not cashley the puppet master but the muppet himself, pardewho.
There is an argument for every scenario with this guy. I suppose our slump is down to him not been on the touchline? Hey I haven’t heard that excuse yet?! The guy beggars belief but hey I haven’t got the energy to rant about him anymore. The most significant factor is perhaps for the first time there is now more who want him out than in and surely that is an illustration of the times we are in?
The thing I hate is the constant lies to fans. Last week we hear that we need to rebuild, that we have to strengthen significantly. Now personally, without been unrealistic, I would suggest that we need at least 5 players. Now this doesn’t cover actually improving the squad size or quality.
I expect Debuchy, Colo, Remy, De Jong, all to go. That doesn’t include clowns like Gosling and Shola. Now add Cabaye to that initial list and we have lost 5 key players. So what does the board suggest……we sign 1 or 2, and that’s not even indicating whether they are permanent! This frustrates me even further that players like Armstrong aren’t been given a chance, is this not the perfect opportunity?
Now the saddest part of this whole situation is the fact we are all turning on each other. Yes fans voice opinions, and we share our frustration, but constantly it seems we are at war with each other.
The fact is this curse has been injected with a long lasting poison, that poison is Mike Ashley and right now there is no antidote!
