Alexandre Lacazette Linked With Newcastle Move
The latest striker linked with a move to St.James’ Park is Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette turns 23 next month and this season has been his breakthrough one, scoring 14 goals in 30 league appearances, despite Lyon having a relatively disappointing year which sees them back in fifth currently in Ligue 1.
The Northern Echo are reporting that Lacazette is high on Newcastle United’s list of priorities with the French club claimed to be keen to sell at around £10m, especially if as expected Lyon miss out on Champions League football.
Along with his goals, the striker has also had a number of suspensions this season thanks to 7 yellow cards and two reds, not bad going for a striker..
A word of caution though as despite a very good season this time around, in Lacazette’s previous 70 league appearances (42 of those in the starting line up) the forward only scored 9 times.
Again though, matching up Newcastle United’s desperate need for goalscorers, and what Mike Ashley will be prepared to pay, won’t be the easiest job.
