Alan Pardew ‘We Will Be In A Good Position In The Summer’
Alan Pardew has given us yet more empty hopes/expectations that I doubt anybody will be taking notice of after everything he has said before.
The Newcastle manager claiming that the club have looked at a couple of potential signings for the summer.
With the United fan base seeing something like half a dozen new players as a bare minimum, a couple would hardly scratch the surface, while after nearly eighteen months of not one player bought, supporters will be questioning the chances of signing anybody up to the job, especially that of creating and scoring goals.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Alan Pardew had this to say;
“Last week, we looked at a couple of things that might be opportunities for us, and we also looked at a couple of players for the summer.
“That is an area we need to get to but we will be in a good position in the summer, I think, but we need to get there first.”
I can’t help but wonder at the spin Pardew will put on the summer once we get to it – ‘Three months without a defeat’, ‘Obertan flying in training’, ‘Shola and Gosling full of confidence after signing their new five year contracts’, ‘Shane Ferguson is like a new player’ etc etc
