Alan Pardew ‘I Think We’ve A Good Chance Of Keeping Loic Remy’

Another classic from Alan Pardew with regard to Loic Remy and to our transfer ‘hopes’ this summer.

While Remy has never given one positive comment about staying at St.James’ Park after his loan period, and in recent days stated his desire to play for a ‘top European club‘, Alan Pardew has now claimed that ‘I think we have got a good chance of keeping Loic’!

The only thing missing after Alan Pardew’s unlikely claim being – ‘Season Tickets available from….’.

Match up these following quotes and decide what you think is most likely…

Loic Remy via Telefoot in France;

“Clubs are currently discussing with my agent, I am open to everything.

“I would like to rejoin a top European club to challenge myself at the highest level. With regards to my future everything is possible, even going back to France.”

“I think we have got a good chance of keeping Loic (Remy).”

Now we have Alan Pardew;

“Sometimes you can be a good fit at a club and he (Loic Remy) fits in here well.

“There is uncertainty amongst the fans about our intentions but perhaps I can feel a little bit more confident.

“I know a little bit more than them.

“We have got ourselves in a good position in terms of transfer preparation and we are certainly going to be active.

“Our targets buoy me.”

If the idea is of encouraging fans that there is good news ahead in the summer transfer market, then ironically the fact the Newcastle manager mentions Remy as a possible part of that totally devalues any worth his other comments have.

Not one person I have spoken to believes there is any chance of United signing Remy.

Hopefully we’ll all be choking on our lack of faith when Ashley and Pardew unveil Loic Remy this summer…
