Video Special – NUFC On Loan Player Scores Two Brilliant Goals
While most Newcastle on loan players are having average to disastrous loan spells this season, James Tavernier is most definitely bucking the trend.
Despite playing in weaker leagues, many of the United on loan players are even struggling to get a game, including Haris Vuckic who is at Rotherham with Tavernier.
It may be League One but look at these two cracking Tavernier goals yesterday which defeated Bristol City, a superb 30 yarder in open play, followed by a classy curling free-kick.
Contrast those to the Newcastle team overall and in particular the appalling set-piece play since Alan Pardew bizarrely handed first Davide Santon and then Paul Dummett the job.
I know friends who support both Gateshead and Sheffield Wednesday who raved about Tavernier and his ability to bomb on from deep and to then shoot and create chances.
Can he do it at a higher level.
Well there is only one way to find out and if there was any way to do so I’d be bringing him back to end this season and see if he can save Newcastle one of the double figure signings we need this summer.
