Good news in terms of our younger players as three of them have signed Newcastle United contracts today, their first professional ones and a massive step up in their careers.
The three are goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, Defender Lubo Satka and striker Adam Armstrong.
Armstrong recently turned seventeen and of course made his senior debut as a sub at Fulham, while eighteen year old Satka travelled with the first team squad for the first time on that trip.
Seventeen year old Woodman has played for England at both under 16 and under 17 level.
Three of the Club’s promising youngsters – Adam Armstrong, Freddie Woodman and Lubo Satka – have signed their first professional contracts.
Forward Armstrong, 17, made his Barclays Premier League debut at Fulham the weekend before last while Slovakian defender Satka, 18, was a non-playing member of the squad.
Goalkeeper Woodman, 17, has played for England at under-16 and under-17 level.
“The hard work starts now – I am buzzing to sign this deal and hopefully it all goes well.
“The manager has shown an interest in the young players which is really good.”
