Three Newcastle Players Make Cabaye Reunion

Didier Deschamps has announced that three of Newcastle’s players will have a Cabaye reunion following Saturday’s clash with Hull.

The national coach named a 24 man squad to face the Netherlands next Wednesday and the names Debuchy, Remy and Sissoko were included.

Yesterday we found out that sadly Tim Krul’s chances of Brazil read our article [intlink id=”40154″ type=”post”]HERE[/intlink]) now look almost non-existent after he was left out of the final 23 man Dutch squad who will be in Paris next week.

Van Gaal had indicated in advance of naming his squad just how important it was to be included with Brazil in mind, something that Deschamps also made clear when asked to comment about the shock exclusions of Abidal and Nasri;

“The interpretations are up to you.

“Many players are out of the squad but I prefer to answer questions about those who are in it.

“I can’t tell you how critical it is to be in this squad but the most important one will be the one that I name in June.”

From the Newcastle point of view, Debuchy looked a certainty but it must have been a big relief for both Remy and Sissoko to be called up, the striker facing intense competition for a place whilst Sissoko has had a strange season of highs and lows, as well as playing in numerous positions.

As for Cabaye, never in doubt he would be named.
