Loic Remy has done an extensive interview over the channel with France Football, a quote that is doing the rounds and said to be from the interview has Remy stating;

“I will play for one of Europe’s big five, or a very big club at least.”

This is then being reported, fairly if the quote is correct…, as meaning that Loic Remy has no intention of signing for Newcastle at the end of his loan spell.

We have asked our top translator Pierre to have a look and see if he can track down the original interview and quotes to translate, to see exactly what Remy has, or…hasn’t said.

France Football are highlighting the Remy interview as a major deal, covering all aspects of his life and career. He has had a colourful life, both on and off the pitch, so he is of real interest over in his native country, particularly as he is likely to be in the squad for Brazil.

signing for newcastleInterestingly, when promoting the interview, France Football haven’t used the not signing for Newcastle angle at all, or made anything of his insisting he’s signing for ‘one of Europe’s big five’.

Instead they have concentrated on the accusation of rape, pseudo-fatherhood, Marseille and the World Cup in Brazil.

Amusingly, considering the fact Remy went to QPR for purely more money than he’d been offered by Newcastle, France Football quote the player as saying;

“It destroys, money, it’s poison.It is a source of happiness but it’s also a poison.

“People do bad things for money, we need it but it’s destructive and hard to manage.

“When you are woken up by the police at 5am…”

As I said at the start, we have asked Pierre our translator to delve deeper in France and if we get any success we’ll report back later.
