Pardew Must Find Meyler Sunderland Celebration Hilarious

The David Meyler Sunderland goal celebration no doubt didn’t go down too well in the Pardew household.

The ex-mackem made headlines for the second weekend in a row as he came out with a ‘hilarious’ goal celebration as he scored the killer goal to put Hull two up and his old team out of the cup.

Meyler (see footage below) scored his goal from a central position but made a point of running all the way to the the corner flag and headbutted it.

The player later described the incident as just ‘banter’ and had earlier said the matter (Pardew incident) was closed as the Newcastle manager had apologised.

Alan Pardew might have a different point of view as to the matter now being ‘closed’, as he likely faces a ban for the rest of the season on an FA charge.

While Pardew didn’t do any harm to Meyler, the Newcastle boss deserves punishment for the sheer ridiculous nature of what he’d done and maybe even more so for his daft explantion of simply trying to ‘push Meyler away with my head’.

However, it is ironic that Meyler was the first one to get physical and yet got no punishment other than the yellow card during the match.

Therefore he was able to play and (amusingly/ironically) beat the mackems and set up a trip to Wembley, rather than being banned and Hull possibly going out.

Last season that toerag Callum McManaman almost crippled Massadio Haidara and yet escaped punishment, going on to play a vital role in Wigan’s path to FA Cup glory.

What price Meyler following in his footsteps, especially as they’ve been handed mid-table League One side Sheffield United in the Semi-final.
