Any of you who watched the debacle at Southampton today, can I warn you to put down anything that is easily breakable before you listen to what Alan Pardew has had to say after the final whistle today.
If you watched this mismatch of the day then you will know that in the first twenty to thirty minutes, only a combination of luck, Rob Elliot and atrocious finishing stopped Newcastle being at least four or five down. It was that bad.
That is just the biggest insult to the intelligence because if there was any luck going today then it was Newcastle United who had it.
We were absolutely battered in every area of the pitch and it could have been double figures – watch it on Match of the Day tonight if you don’t believe me and can bear to watch it.
This is what Alan Pardew had to say;
“It was a really tough day and we didn’t get the breaks.
“All four goals were almost identical in terms of holding a line that wasn’t there.
“We are desperate to freshen things up but we are down on numbers, so that is costly.
“We were in trouble from kick-off to the end.”
