Newcastle Striker Ready To Sign Permanent Deal
Talking ahead of the trip to Fulham, on-loan striker Luuk de Jong has revealed that ‘it would be great to sign a long contract here’ and tie himself into a permanent deal.
The forward has shown an increasingly impressive work ethic since he arrived at St.James’ Park, culminating in his supporting role at Hull, but Newcastle will surely want to see a few goals before they can make any long-term commitment.
“I really like it hare and everybody is helping me – I knew a few such as Tim, Vurnon and Cheick, so it’s nice they’re here too.
“It’s (first goal) is always getting closer, I want to score goals like every other player.
“I think I did a good job at Hull behind Loic and helped out in midfield as well.
“It was a good game for me but you want to score goals, though when you work hard and win I’m happy as well.”
Fulham today would be as good a place to start for De Jong if he does want a permanent deal, the home side having conceded 31 goals in only 14 home matches.
De Jong’s very public declaration that he is desperate to sign for Newcastle is very much at odds with Loic Remy’s repeated refusal to give any encouragement to fans that he has any intention of staying at United after this season.
