One of his first ever coaches has revealed that Newcastle’s latest young signing, Stefan Broccoli, signed for Newcastle United after meeting Mike Ashley.

Sixteen year old Broccoli was on the books of Arsenal but after leaving the Gunners had a trial at Newcastle earlier this season and is now reported to be joining United’s Academy pool of players.

Broccoli’s early coach, Elliott Parry, has said how the player signed for Newcastle following a meeting with both Ashley and Peter Beardsley.

Parry was part of Feeder Soccer which was first introduced in 2001 as Feeder Soccer Soccer Schools to Peterborough Infant and Primary Schools.

Feeder Soccer became a great Soccer School and developed thousands of children through football before introducing the Academy & Football Club in 2008.

This is the background Elliott Parry has given to the Newcastle signing;

‘Stefan Broccoli – I first met Stefan at 5 Years Old at a Hampton Hargate Soccer based Feeder Camp, I noticed Stefan had a great first touch and could pick a pass and he joined our Under 7 Academy @ 5 Years Old.

Stefan was developed as a wide player playing a year under at Under 7 ages vs our Rushden & Diamond Associate Club but always believed he would finish in the middle of the park,, where he has gone from Arsenal Full Back to now developing as a Central Player @ Newcastle Utd.

Stefan was always focused and attracted the attention of Arsenal Academy, where he was part of the Arsenal Academy team until this Season.

Stefan has decided to leave and sign professionally with Newcastle Utd after meeting Mike Ashley & Peter Beardsley.

Stefan recently came to training to say his thank yous and even mentioned how I had coached him to tackle, which is wicked.

But above all Stefan has turned out a lovely lad.

Well Done Stefan! You will be brilliant at Newcastle Utd, it’s an amazing story so far.’
