Saturday’s trip to Humberside has provided many headlines but few that pay tribute to the performance or the fact it confirmed United’s acceleration this season to 100 wins away from home in the Premier League era.

It may have taken 379 matches but the NUFC record away from home in the Premier League now reads;

100 wins

One Hundredddd

100 Wins
106 Draws
173 Defeats

As any regular follower of United away knows, much of the time it can be soul destroying stuff.

This season though sees United remarkably having won more points away from home than at St.James’ Park, seven wins and a draw producing 22 points on our travels, compared to 21 at home (6 wins and 3 draws). Plus of course those away wins have featured some stand out results such as against Spurs and Manchester United.

The 100 Premier League away wins break down as follows;

8 Villa

7 Spurs, West Ham

6 Leeds, Middlesbrough

5 Sunderland, Everton

4 Arsenal, Bolton, Palace

3 Blackburn, Coventry, Derby, Fulham, QPR, Sheff Wed, West Brom

2 Birmingham, Ipswich, Leicester

1 Cardiff, Chelsea, Charlton, Hull, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Norwich, Forest, Oldham, Portsmouth, Sheff Utd, Southampton, Stoke, Swansea, Wigan, Wolves

While the clubs who Newcastle have failed to beat away in the Premier League era are;
