Manchester United and Arsenal Fans Show Their Double Standards

For so long we have had to put up with patronising comments from so many, but especially Manchester United and Arsenal fans.

You know the kind of thing. Such as when we had that idiot fathead Sam Allardyce and we were subjected to appalling football and results very quickly went the same way.

(To feature like Sam, send in your letters/articles for our magazine/website to contribute@themag.co.uk)

Yet when any Newcastle fans showed any displeasure at the useless oaf (and many others including Souness and JFK etc) and insisted he had to go, we were lectured by the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal fans on phone-ins/message boards etc who would be calling us for not showing patience and suggesting we should be more than happy with lower mid-table.

They’d be giving us the lecture from on high, supporting well run football clubs and having the luxury of class managers like Wenger and Fergie running the show.

However, you have to laugh at the Manchester United fans in particular, because they haven’t won the Premier League for ten months and are only in the last eight of the Champions League, a load of them hired a plane to fly the message ‘Wrong One – Moyes Out’ over their match today and there have been threats to rip down a banner at Old Trafford which shows an image of David Moyes alongside the words ‘The Chosen One’.

Come on, show a little patience lads, give Moyes a couple of years and he’ll get you top six again…

As for Arsenal supporters (see the banner below they were displaying at today’s match), you don’t meet many who are more smug than that lot.

Every time they fail to win a couple of matches in a row they have the knives out for Arsene Wenger, a genius of a manager who has built their club into one of the biggest in the world and still made profits in the transfer market, as well as the small matter of giving them Champions League football every single season and a top four spot. Plus they are ‘only’ in the FA Cup semis and very short favourites to win the whole thing.

Success definitely breeds a monster where many fans are concerned, they begin to think that just because their team is better than yours and just about anybody else’s, that then equates to them being better and more knowledgeable fans.

Afraid it doesn’t work like that and good to see both Manchester United and Arsenal fans learning that it is a pretty steep fall from the pedestal  that they have planted themselves on.
