John Carver ‘You Don’t Have To Be A Rocket Scientist To Work It Out’
John Carver reckons it wasn’t too difficult to predict what Tony Pulis would order his Crystal Palace side to do and summed it by saying. “you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work it out.”
“I think we knew what their game plan was, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work it out.
“Get everybody behind the ball, make it difficult, frustrate the crowd. Which they did at times but they (fans) stayed with us.
“We still ended up with twenty odd shots with eight on target I think.”
When it came to bringing on Hatem Ben Arfa who gave Newcastle the flair and the goal assist they were desperate for, he explained how the process between him and Alan Pardew kind of worked…
“I spoke to the manager and he gave me a few options.
“We sat on it for a while and decided to make the change.
As to who gets the credit I’m not too sure at the minute.”
With such a desperate performance and zero creativity, bringing on the one real flair player in our squad, no matter what negatives you might attach to him, was surely a no-brainer for anybody inside the stadium…and the odd one sitting outside on the end of a hotline to John Carver.
