Fabricio Coloccini Returns

8 years ago

Good news to hear Fabricio Coloccini returns to Tyneside and earlier today was reported to be back training as well.

I don’t think there would have been a travelling Newcastle fan whose heart didn’t sink when they heard the Newcastle captain wouldn’t be playing at Hull.

The fears proved unfounded as Newcastle’s finishing was exemplary, while the home side helped by missing a couple of sitters and generally looking ineffective in attack.

Coloccini was given leave to fly back to attend a funeral and be with his family but the Argentinian is now back with his team-mates.

Alan Pardew commented on his absence;

“We are sad to see what has happened to Colo and his family – he has got our love.

“Those who came in did a great job.”

How the Newcastle manager approaches his team selection will be interesting and could we possibly see the very rare sight of our captain sitting on the bench when available?
